Hi everyone welcome to the week 5 blog!

This week we started off by heading to Richmond leisure centre for our gym session with Andrew we started off with some stretches and then everyone got the chance to use all of the equipment and try new exercises with the guidance of Andrew! We then finished off with a cool down stretch and headed to Docklands library.

We all did some research on different course options for various tafes and universities and gave the students the opportunity to look into different courses that interested them!

After that we headed to Kangan Institute in docklands for a tour of their automotive program. We were shown all the areas and different workshops they had for people to learn hands on and complete their courses. We were given lots of information of what they had to offer and saw all the sections such as the body shop and diagnostic areas. We learnt all about trucks, cars, motorbikes and aquatic vehicles!

On Thursday we had a great day beginning at Collingwood Alternative School, we went through the ABCD of bike safety in preparation for our session with students from the Collingwood English language school where we will donate bikes and teach them bike safety. We also got our bikes all prepped for the bike camp and our bike ride this day. We then headed to Richmond and rode along the Yarra to federation square, we all ate lunch and then had an explore. We went to look up hoiser lane to look at the street art and have a look around culture kings. After our exploring we rode back with a few stops along the way to look at the views and stop at the climbing wall! We arrived back at the bus after a great ride and a good practise for our camp!

On the Friday we had a very exciting day! We started with some work in our journals about healthy relationships and filled out some other journal work. We then headed to keon park to go bowling as a special activity for Frankie’s birthday! We had lots of strikes and then sung happy birthday with some cupcakes! After we all finished up with bowling we headed into headspace Collingwood. We learnt all about the facilities and programs they have on offer for everyone to use. Everyone got familiar with the space and the staff there.

We had a great week this week and can’t wait for the camp next week!!

This week for our student interview we have Dom from Richmond High School. Dom's favourite part of the week was the Kangan Institute tour because it was a enw experience. This week he found bowling the most challenging. Dom is most looking forward to the camp because he will get to try new experiences for the first time.
