On Friday 17th June we held our Term 2 Operation Newstart Graduation Ceremony at Youth Central in Broadmeadows. The graduation is a really fantastic way to celebrate the achievements of the graduating young people, and to really showcase to family and support staff what they've been involved with over the last term. The students all spoke wonderfully at the ceremony and gave the audience an insight into their favourite activities and some of the challenges they faced through
This is just a short post to finish off the program- there'll be a separate post about Graduation but we had a few other really great experiences in the final week that are worth writing about! Wednesday was our last day altogether as a group before Graduation, as the students were at Reach on Thursday. We are rapidly approaching the end of term with only one week left on the program! We started the week off at Roxy Youth Centre again, this time to do a hip hop session with Scott. The students got together and wrote a fantastic rap about their lives, chose a beat and practiced performing it. We're hoping to be able to perform this great piece live at the Graduation next week.
